At the otherwise clearly labeled Small Desk Press Third Annual Art Auction Fund-Raiser, the organizers left something out. For our money, the important element of this evening is a reading by Sarah Fran Wisby, Dustin Heron, and Ali Lawrence. It's not that the art isn't great (Truong Tran? Sara Pavao? Barry McGee? Hell, yeah), or the cause unworthy (go team independent publishing!), it's just that Sarah Fran Wisby is one of our favorite readers in this city of great readers. If it were up to us to name the event, it would be called Rare Chance to See and Hear Red-Hot Brilliant, Vegetable-Obsessed Local Writer.
