This is not the worst locally produced zombie movie we've ever seen. Although RetarDEAD takes itself too seriously to be really quality schlock, it seems as though the makers of Monsturd have done it again, and made a film that's pretty good, provided you like that kind of thing. Overall, the movie self-consciously employs genre clichés as if that alone were enough to make them funny -- sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. That said, as long as you like laughing at "retards," because yes, that's a requirement, it's a decent romp featuring a bad scientist, innocent schoolchildren, mayhem, and lots and lots of zombies gettin' popped. Buckets of blood, entrails, putrefaction, you get the idea. It also features the Living Dead Girlz, a zombie dance troupe, whose own production, a re-do of Kelly's "Shoes" ("Let's get some brains!") makes us think they must be incredibly funny as well as deeply committed to the zombie afterlifestyle.
