Yes, the shop's name is somewhat unfortunate and doesn't help at all with imagery, but Mr. Gasser didn't choose his name and it isn't his fault (unless, of course, he isn't actually a real person). The large, independent store is a worthwhile place to visit for camera concerns — it's also a place where the traditional isn't ostracized in favor of the digital. Repairs are swift, professional, and fairly priced. For the persistent, there are also used bargains from time to time. And amateurs who don't happen to own any equipment are free to pretend they're professionals for a day or week with still camera and audiovisual rentals that reach into the high end. If you're feeling spontaneous, take advantage of the Friday afternoon wild card special: half off the rental price of all unreserved equipment still hanging around after 3 p.m.
