Neighborhood Tree Planting

Friends of the Urban Forest plants trees in any neighborhood of San Francisco if at least 30 trees are requested. Plantings are initially organized by a volunteer who works to generate interest for the planting and gets local neighbors (property owners) signed up. The group does not plant single trees (just groups), and does not plant trees in backyards. Plantings generally happen on Saturday mornings, and are group efforts that involve the neighborhood residents themselves, and FUF volunteers and staff. Events are usually finished by noon, and each planting concludes with a potluck lunch.
